SYRIA: Part III—Are We Headed for International War Over Unproven
Allegations? More Video From Tucker Carlson
Friends,
Some
of us remember the 1997 film, “Wag the Dog,” a movie that starred Dustin
Hoffman, Robert De Niro, and Woody Harrelson. None of those actors is a
particular favorite of mine, but the film, itself, coming about the time of the
latest eruption of Bill Clinton sex scandals, made a point: in times of crisis,
embattled governments—or, in the Syrian case, rebels near defeat—attempt to
create diversions, in this case, a “false flag” operation to prevent actions
that could ensure their final extinction.
The
announcement a little more than a week ago that President Trump intended to
pull American troops and support units out of Syria was met with expressions of
worry, horror and angst, not just by the few remaining Jihadi rebels on the
ground who once had hoped to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and
replace him with an ultra-Islamist government, but also by the Israelis who are
constantly fearful of Iranian influence in the area and who are the biggest
proponents for continued chaos in Syria as well as American boys doing the
fighting, and, lastly, by the bloodthirsty Neoconservative foreign policy
establishment in Washington, for whom Syria had become a “back door” to war
with Russia, their ultimate target.
Lindsey
Graham, John McCain, and others frankly and openly declare as much: they want
war, all in the name of the high-flying but the utterly deadly and fatal idea
of imposing liberal democracy and equality in every country around the world,
whether those countries want it or can absorb it, or not…and whether it will
cost the lives of thousands of American boys, not to mention the trillions of
dollars spent on endless war.
Of
course, and very ironically, certain potential targets of Neocon globalist
ideas get passes: The most glaring example is Saudi Arabia, arguably the most
authoritarian of all Middle Eastern states and the source of much of the
financing and manpower for most of the Islamic extremism in the area—indeed, much
more than Iran. But, then, Iran is the focused and fierce enemy of Israel, and
that counts far more in American equations and Neoconservative foreign policy analysis,
despite being horribly skewed and potentially dangerous to real American interests.
Just
like the supposed sarin gas attack almost one year ago exactly in the Syrian
village of Khan Sheikhoun, this purported attack on the village of Douma has
all the earmarks of a “false flag” operation with the specific purpose of
drawing the United States deeper into a conflict which has no resolution, but
could very well get us into an extremely dangerous shooting war with Russia.
It
is what is NOT being said, what is NOT being reported by Fox News that is truly
troubling. In earlier alleged chemical attacks (El Ghouta in 2013 and Khan Sheikhoun
last April 2017), Islamist jihadist retained
control of the supposed target sites after
the attacks were mounted so international inspection teams could not readily
analyze the sites; that is not the case today. Russian-backed Syrian government
forces have now taken control of Douma:
“As a result of the total surrender of
the Jihadis previously in control of Douma on Sunday, it is the Russian
military who this time are in control of the alleged crime scene. This has put
the Russians in a position where for the first time they are able both to
invite the OPCW [the international Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical
Weapons] inspectors to attend the crime scene and to provide them with

And
that is exactly what the Russian ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily
Nebenzia, has done: urgently requested that
the international OPCW immediately send an impartial team of scientists to
actually analyze and find out exactly what did happen.
Is
this not a reasonable—indeed, an absolutely necessary and required action—before hundreds of American missiles and
jets, and potentially thousands of American boys go off to a renewed conflict
that could actually unleash a World War III, and before thousands of body bags
come back to the United States? Cannot we wait until such a fair, scientific
assessment is made—despite the bloodthirsty cries of Graham, or General Jack
Keane (on Fox), or the Congressional Democrats who also understand that a
unwinnable quagmire could assist in bringing down the hated Donald Trump?
Yet
the urgent Russian resolution to do just that—to immediately send an OPCW team
to find out the truth—was essentially vetoed yesterday by the United States,

What
indeed are Lindsey Graham and the war hawks in the GOP the Neocon foreign
policy establishment afraid of? Why this headlong plunge into war, which would be, as I have
written before: perpetual war for unobtainable peace resulting in thousands
dead and maimed, and the distinct probably of conflagration on an international
scale.
Just as in
the case of the alleged poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal in England—a case
that is now unraveling almost totally, with the head of the British chemical
lab at Porton Down, Gary Aitkenhead, contradicting Prime Minister Theresa May
and her Foreign Minister Boris Johnson that Russia was the identified source of
the chemical agent Novichok [https://www.unz.com/pgiraldi/liars-lying-about-nearly-everything-2/],
the chemical attack at Douma has all
the marks of the latest “false flag” operation…an operation with devious
purposes, with a media, including most of the pundits and armchair generals of
Fox, chiming in for blood…with the notable exception of Tucker Carlson.
And
it is Carlson’s latest commentary and interview with Glenn Greenwald from
Tuesday night, April 10, captured on You Tube, that I pass on and urge you to
watch today. It lasts about 5:49. And
after watching it, I implore you to contact your congressional representatives
and the White House to demand that an impartial investigation of the events at
Douma be made, and that the United States support it—despite the bloodthirsty
screams of the globalists—before any
offensive action is initiated:
