Gender Destruction: 
The Other Major Weapon of Cultural Marxism



Friends,

Three days ago, on June 5, I remitted comments to you on the topic titled “Racism, the Marxist Weapon to Transform the West.” [see:  http://boydcatheyreviewofbooks.blogspot.com/2018/06/june-4-2018-my-corner-by-boyd-cathey.html] In my commentary I alluded to two major avenues of attack by what is termed cultural Marxism, and although I posited that race (and the use of the meme of racism and various types of white oppression, supremacy and privilege that must be overturned) is the major template in this multifaceted and massive assault on traditional Western and Christian civilization, the use and manipulation of gender is certainly not far behind.

 Just a cursory review of the news, at any time of day, on any network, in any newspaper or format, confirms this abundantly. Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, and Dr. Larry Nasser (former physician with the USA Gymnastics team) have been just three of the more notorious villains. But their probable guilt and credibility as witnesses for the prosecution in highly visible and publicized sex abuse cases occlude something far more sinister and far more comprehensive occurring in our society, and that is an attack on the very idea of separate and distinguishable genders, on gender identity, a concerted attempt to undo and defy what nature and nature’s God have decreed.

A similar modus operandi—a similar “M.O.” to that used by social justice warriors in their efforts to root out so-called racism and white privilege—is employed  by educators in both grammar schools and in colleges, by Hollywood and the sports industry, and increasingly by politicians, to radically transform our traditional beliefs and conceptions of sexual identity and roles. In short, to overturn nature, itself.

There are countless examples of this, ranging from very local moves by nearby schools on all levels to engineer a curriculum that, practically-speaking, dissolves “maleness” while touting “inclusiveness,” which almost always means inculcating the normalization of LGBT preferences and encouraging feminism and “womens’ liberation,” to broader efforts via the entertainment media and sports industry to deny God-created differences in every way imaginable.

Hapless and beset upon parents, most of whom must work forty hour weeks and tend to running a household, are too often rendered defenseless, incapable of resisting the latest measures of Big Brother—whether that Big Brother be the latest diktat emanating from junior’s school district, or whether it come in browbeating from their pastor, or increasingly less subtle indoctrination from popular culture, television, movies, and social interaction over the Internet.

Like the racism tsunami, the gender revolutionaries seem unstoppable and invincible; and beleaguered parents, especially those who cannot afford to send their children to private or religious schools, often find themselves outflanked, out-maneuvered, and intellectually incapable of successful resistance.

In recent years, there have been efforts—as yet baby steps—to undo some of the worst damage inflicted by the gender revolutionaries, especially in education, including most notably, provisions for school choice and charter schools. But this counter-revolution is only a small measure in what must become a total dismantling of our educational establishment, from grammar school to college—if any lasting success be obtained, and if we somehow rescue our inherited civilization from the revolutionary vandals who seek its destruction.

Those measures must include the eventual and carefully-thought-out privatization of our school system, and the radical reform of college education.

But, additionally, it must encompass a vision of recovering or at least establishing a significant presence in our entertainment, our sports, and in our broader culture. For reforming the schools without that, only leaves students subject to the same infectious influences they were receiving in school, but this time, outside it.

Today I pass on four short items, and I think there is thematic linkage between them. The first details the efforts to establish a “third gender” on birth certificates for New Yorkers; you must read this to believe it. Second, there is the story that Boy Scouts—oops! Pardon me, “Scouts of America”—will now provide condoms to all scouts and their scout leaders at the global scout meeting in West Virginia, July 21-August 1, 2018. Yep, you heard that right, also. [I am not even going to speculate on that one.] Third, I pass on a news report concerning a local bill enacted by the North Carolina General Assembly allowing towns around Charlotte to set up their own charter schools, not governed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools “Welcoming Schools” diversity program which seeks to mainstream transgenderism and same sex activity.

Finally—and some of you may find this too controversial—I send on an essay by a friend of mine, Professor Jesse Russell, who like me contributes to the right wing traditionalist Catholic journal, The Remnant. Dr. Russell writes on rock-and-roll as a kind of Trojan Horse that has had definite and long-range effects on the nation’s morality and, even more, on our youth, our general conception of ourselves…and our relation with our Maker.

A 3rd Gender on Birth Certificates? NYC May Allow It

A new proposal supported by the mayor and city council speaker would allow people who were born in New York City to select a third gender known as “X” on their birth certificate.

“This groundbreaking legislation will make New York City birth certificates more inclusive for all and will send a powerful signal to the world that New York City government works for everyone,” City Council Speaker Corey Johnson said during a press conference, according to the New York Post.

A hearing on the proposal is set for July, with a vote in September, the newspaper reported. Johnson called the third gender a “non-binary” choice.

Three states -- California, Washington and Oregon – also allow people to choose a third gender on their birth certificates.

Already, parents of newborns who don’t want a gender on their child’s birth certificate can place asterisks in the gender category until the child is old enough to choose a gender.

Newborns whose parents don’t want to enter a gender would continue under the current system of being documented with four asterisks as a placeholder until their kids are old enough to choose for themselves.

World Net Daily reported that a new mandate to be put in effect this June takes scouting to a new level entirely. For the first time, condoms will be required to be available to all participants at its global gathering to be held in West Virginia between July 21 and August 1, 2018. This mandate has been quoted by many news agencies as directing the host organizations, such as Boy Scouts of America (now Scouts BSA) to:
… ensure that condoms are readily and easily accessible for all participants and IST [staff] at a number of locations on the site. Heads of Contingent must be informed in advance and made aware of their responsibility in communicating this policy to their Participants, Unit Leaders, Contingent Staff, and IST in an appropriate way.” (See Guideline 7.3 on page 10 of the document.) 
The Scouts own announcement reads as follows:
For the first time, a world jamboree will be hosted by three national Scout organizations: Scouts Canada, Asociación de Scouts de México, and the Boy Scouts of America. These three distinct cultures will join together to host the world Scouting community in a celebration of cultural exchange, mutual understanding, peace, and friendship.”
Only now, that friendship seems to include something like friends with benefits, because now condoms are required. This is rather a first for an organization whose age range in America is limited to the range between 6 to 18 at the most. While World Scouts has a higher top-end age of 26 (legal adulthood, which at least legally justifies this condom rule), the reported problem is that this availability is to be extended to kids who are not of legal age of consent in the United States. In West Virginia, this age is 16. 
The American scouting associations were historically well-connected to Christian ethics and values. This showed in the oath a new Scout took:
On my honor, I will do my best 
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; 
To help other people at all times; 
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
Note that the Boy Scout Oath has traditionally been considered to have three promises. Those three promises are delineated by the semicolons in the Oath, which divide it into three clauses. The three promises of the Scout Oath are, therefore:

  • Duty to God and country,
  • Duty to other people, and
  • Duty to self

DUTY TO GOD AND COUNTRY: Your family and religious leaders teach you to know and serve God. By following these teachings, you do your duty to God.
Men and women of the past worked to make America great, and many gave their lives for their country. By being a good family member and a good citizen, by working for your country’s good and obeying its laws, you do your duty to your country. Obeying the Scout Law means living by its 12 points:

  • Trustworthy,
  • Loyal,
  • Helpful,
  • Friendly,
  • Courteous,
  • Kind,
  • Obedient,
  • Cheerful,
  • Thrifty,
  • Brave,
  • Clean,
  • and Reverent.

DUTY TO OTHER PEOPLE: Many people need help. A cheery smile and a helping hand make life easier for others. By doing a Good Turn daily and helping when you’re needed, you prove yourself a Scout and do your part to make this a better world.
DUTY TO SELF: Keeping yourself physically strong means taking care of your body. Eat the right foods and build your strength. Staying mentally awake means learn all you can, be curious, and ask questions. Being morally straight means to live your life with honesty, to be clean in your speech and actions, and to be a person of strong character.

What do condoms have to do with a [supposedly] Christianity-based association such as Boy Scouts of America? The Boy Scouts of America has been under a particularly strong attack for years, and it had appeared to reach a culmination this year when the decision was made to allow girls to participate in the once all-male organization.

That was after homosexuals were allowed in 2015 to serve as scout leaders and counselors and after repeated attempts to uphold the Boy Scout traditional code of values (which was given a solid approval by no less than the US Supreme Court), were met with withdrawal of support from corporate donors, such as Lockheed-Martin, the defense contractor; Disney, whose attacks on this moral code have been withering and constant; Merck, Intel, UPS and many United Way chapters have also joined in the condemnation of the upholding of traditional values by the scouting association.

Much of this was at its greatest intensity between the years 2012 and 2014 according to the datelines of the stories covering the matter. But in 2018 the wall was finally breached, and now girls may join the association. In fact, Boy Scouts of America is in fact no more, with a new name and brand, Scouts BSA, expected to go into force in 2019.

This most recent change, having taken effect in late April of this year, caused no small stir among parents who used to be Scouts in their own youth. The destruction of this Christianity-based organization and its history of being attacked and broken down by liberal radicalism was brought to a seeming culmination with the allowing of girls into the organization.

However, some very interesting commentary could be seen in social media regarding this matter. One parent noted that Girl Scouts had become even more compromised, essentially offering only an indoctrination into feminism and useless, boring and dull activities for girls, which were said to be nowhere near the caliber of the activities the Boy Scouts were still doing.

Viewed in that light, it seemed a lot less tragic, because it was merely seen as a move from a severely compromised association to a much less compromised one. After all Boy Scouts was still functioning at a pretty high level, so why not let girls in and simply make it a single organization?

Which is apparently what happened.

However the slippery slope of liberal and secular humanist values was able to take another step with this World Scouting Jamboree edict about condoms. While Scouts BSA (ex-Boy Scouts of America) itself did not appear to have any interest or investment in doing such a thing, their participation in a worldwide get-together now places a new anti-Christian demand on the association.

This could well be seen as a real danger to the kids themselves. American scouts max out at age 18. Who is going to be using these condoms, and with whom?

This is certainly an affront to the traditional viewpoint held by the American association, and it is being forced away from that yet again by liberal activism.

Parents are certainly within their rights to be worried about this.

General Assembly passes controversial NC charter school bill



PRELIMINARY NOTE:

Thanks to Representative Bill Brawley, parents in Matthews, Mint Hill, Huntersville, and Cornelius may soon have a choice about where their children attend school. Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District’s refusal to listen to parents on issues like “Welcoming Schools” and the Board's new Multiculturalism Policy are but a few of the reasons the bill passed both houses of the General Assembly. CMS adopted “Welcoming Schools” under the guise of bullying prevention, but it is actually focused on mainstreaming homosexual and transgender behaviors, causing children as young as Kindergarten to question their own gender and accept these behaviors in their peers as normal.  The Board’s new Multiculturalism Policy added “sexual orientation and gender identity” as cultures to be studied by students across all subject areas.  If the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District refuses to listen to parents and keeps advancing an agenda, we can expect more of this in the future. The following article illustrates the arguments made by opponents of the bill and repeated in the Charlotte:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The General Assembly has approved a measure to allow four Charlotte-area cities to open their own charter schools, essentially leaving the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). Critics have argued in the past that HB 514 may bring segregation back to our local schools.

Passage of what was called HB 514 means Matthews, Mint Hill, Huntersville and Cornelius will be able to open their own charter schools.

Critics say the four communities are all wealthy and predominantly white and will be able to give preference to their own residents for seats in those new classrooms. In a statement that came just minutes after the final vote of approval from the House, CMS said it was weighing possible responses, an indication that a lawsuit could follow.

The statement went on to say, “Our community and state must always try to do what is best for our children and we owe it to future generations to stay focused on their needs.”

Tuesday, a group of former CMS board members met with local members of the clergy to say they were concerned about what would happen if HB 514 passed. “In a time when we have increased diversity in our community, we should not isolate our schools along racial and socioeconomic lines," said former board member Wilhelmenia Rembert.

Former CMS board chair Arthur Griffon was raised in segregated schools and feared HB 514 would open a door to a return to segregation in Charlotte. He said, “Jim Crow was everywhere. You couldn’t go here, you couldn’t go there because of your color, your status.” He vows the fight over 514 is not over, saying, “I plan to take this as far as I can. In the streets, as well as in the courts.”

Supporters of the bill argued that race played no part in it, saying the measure would allow for more choices for students in those communities.

Bigger than Jesus? How Rock and Roll and the Beatles Supplanted Christianity and Destroyed the West

Over at First Things, one of the last redoubts of the Catholic brand of Neoconservativism, John Waters has a curious article, “How U2 betrayed Rock and Roll,” arguing that the Irish quartet of aging rockers’ recent support of the “yes” vote in the Irish referendum on abortion is the unfortunate culmination of the band’s spiritual and musical degeneration throughout the 90s and 2000s.

However, Waters’ critique is followed by an odd affirmation that the Dubliner rockers, who had identified with Christianity off and on in their careers, were once a “sincere and thoughtful group,” concerned with the noble task of “truth-telling.”

In fact, Waters even argues further that rock and roll is at least rooted in the authentic, nay even Christian spirituality of the singing of black slaves in the antebellum American South—although Waters does admit that the “relationship between Christ and rock ’n’ roll is paradoxical at best.”

While Waters is correct in his praise of the aesthetic quality of U2’s music, he errs in his assessment of rock and roll’s allegedly noble roots.

Despite obvious precedence in Gospel-infused songs sung by slaves as well as in European ballads possibly dating back to the Paleolithic period, rock and roll has always been evil. At risk of reviving the “Satanic Panic” of the 1980s, it must be noted that there is no more relation between Christ and rock and roll than there is between Christ and Satan.

Since its first conjuring by bluesman Robert Johnson who claimed to have received his musical abilities from the devil himself at the crossroads near Clarksdale, Mississippi, the lyrics, rhythm and harmony, and iconography of rock and roll has drawn from the murky, Stygian world of the occult.

The greatest rock musicians, from early acts like Elvis and the Rolling Stones and 70s psychedelic and hard rock giants like the Doors and Led Zeppelin to more recent artists like Pearl Jam, and, of course U2--not to mention Luciferan hip hop artists like Jay-Z--have been overtly and proudly Satanic.

The immediate reaction to these statements from guilty-as-charged Christian fans of these musical groups is one of disbelief, dismissal, and (perhaps even spastic) anger. The actual practice of Crowleyan Satanism, the chanting of spells in songs, and mimicking of the rhythm of pagan ritual in music is pooh-poohed as merely the eccentric and odd behavior characteristic of rock and roll, and Christian fans of pop and rock usually dismiss the ability for this satanic influence to affect devoted and mature fans like themselves.

Despite the resistance such an analysis might trigger, to understand the essentially diabolical nature of rock and roll, we must focus on the rock and roll band par excellence, the group that on February 9, 1964, just three months after the assassination of the first Catholic president in United States history, appeared on the Ed Sullivan show to choreographed screaming of the newly invented American teenager, the Beatles.

Landing upon American shores in the wake of the budding trauma of the Vietnam War, the Beatles showed up just in time for the Kulchurkampf against the old Christian order. As has oft been remarked by Beatles fans themselves, the quartet from Liverpool changed everything from American hairstyles and clothing apparel to religious and sexual norms--lapsed Catholic Sinead O’Connor even once referred to the Fab Four as the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” because of the radical cultural sea-change they affected in the Western world. Humming the songs of the Beatles, no longer would the youth follow the traditions of their ancestors; the newly minted teenager excited on free love and LSD would lead the way in culture creation.

The Beatles were, in fact, outspoken in their desire to be rid of Christianity.

John Lennon famously stated in a London Evening Standard interview published in March of 1966, “Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue about that; I know I'm right and I will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now. I don't know which will go first – rock & roll or Christianity.” While Lennon’s words prompted fierce backlash from Christians around the world, his words proved to be prophetic, as the rock and roll culture spawned by the Beatles that packaged together sexual license, rebellion, and psychedelic tinged occultism became not merely the vanguard of “progress,” but the modus operandi of the everyday lives of people the world over. As a visibly nervous Lennon in a televised interview matter-of-factly defended his statement by noting that the Beatles were having “more influence on kids and things than anyone else, including Jesus.”

Since Vatican Council II’s “auto-demolition of the faith” was well under way and Protestantism was itself dissolving as a cultural force in the West, there was no longer a strong enough cultural resistance in the West to this new pagan assault.

As if a potent and seductive reply to their Christian critics, in 1967, the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, a veritable circus of sex, drugs, and occultism.

Taking aim at the “stiff upper lip,” post-war Britain and the remnants of Eisenhower’s America, the album contained such anti-Christian songs as “All the Lonely People,” deriding the pious Eleanor Rigby and the Catholic priest, Fr. Mckenzie. The implication was that Christianity was boring, but the hip new Hinduism peddled in songs like “Within You Without You” would provide an authentic, guilt-free and loving faith to supplement the ancient Christian faith of the West.

While the Beatles battled back against Christian resistance with promises of free love, progress, and psychedelic drugs in their music, Sgt. Pepper’s album cover has been the subject of intense speculation among Beatle fans as well as conspiracy-minded Christian critics. Some have argued that the seeming hodge-podge of characters on the album cover consists of alleged “fans” (both living and dead) of the Beatles. However, interviews with those involved with the album’s creation reveal that these figures were, for the most part, chosen personally by the Beatles and represent influences on the band.

It is curious to note that virtually every figure on the album cover is either a pioneer of the unholy trinity of sex drugs and rock and roll and/or was heavily involved in the occult.

The album includes a number of “Venus” characters who helped further the sexual revolution in the early and mid-twentieth century. In addition to the degenerate actress Diana Dors, there is, of course, the tragic Marilyn Monroe as well as Mae West, the first major Hollywood icon of impurity, who was, among other things, heavily involved in séances, a participant in the first on screen lesbian kiss, and a star of an early film, Drag, in which cross-dressing men were featured. As an added bonus, there is Shirley Temple, one of Hollywood’s first attempts at the sexualization of children.

Very interestingly for a radical band, there also are a number of architects of modern totalitarianism who combined the use of technology, drug use, and eugenics for their vision of a New World Order such as Karl Marx, George Bernard Shaw, H.G. Wells, and Aldous Huxley.

And then there are the three “wild card” figures of the Sgt. Pepper’s cover. The first is Aleister Crowley, the founder of modern Satanism personally chosen by John Lennon to be the album cover. In fact, when asked to summarize the message or spirit of the Beatles, Lennon would later quote Aleister Crowley’s maxim, “Do What Thou Wilt.”

There are two figures who, very interestingly, did not make it on the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: Adolf Hitler and Jesus Christ. Both figures were chosen by Beatles’ front man, John Lennon, but Christ was not included as it would be considered too irreverent, and Hitler was scrapped for obvious reasons.

The absence of Christ is interesting, for there are many quotes from Lennon blaspheming Christ and mocking Christianity. However, in the New Age movement of which the Beatles were devotees, a dethroned Christ as rabbi and guru is endorsed.

As Adolf Hitler was a rabid occultist and advocate of eugenics and the New Age version of Nietzsche’s ubermensch or the god-like man above men, it is no surprise that Lennon would have tried to place the cruel Austrian painter turned dictator on the cover of one of the most influential rock albums of all time.

Sgt. Pepper’s was released only one year before the “Summer of Love,” which initiated the Aquarian Age of sex, drugs, and rock and roll as well as the ‘68 student revolutions that accelerated the process of colonizing the Western university for the cause of cultural Marxism.

The psychedelic drug peddling, occult infused, and Christ-mocking message of Sgt. Pepper’s was thus enough not simply to push back against Christianity, but to initiate an eruption of Eastern Mysticism and poisonous New Age spirituality into the West.

As part of their efforts to midwife Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism to the West, the Beatles even made a pilgrimage East, not to the Holy Cities of Rome or Jerusalem as their English ancestors might have, but to Rishikesh, India, in February of 1968 to study under the famous Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who is credited with bringing transcendental meditation to the West.

If, dear reader, transcendental meditation or “T.M.” rings a bell, it should because Katy Perry, apparently an acquaintance of “good” [sic!] Pope Francis, recently taught transcendental meditation to attendees at the Vatican sponsored “Unite to Cure” conference.

Charged with a mission of bringing a new spiritual teaching to the world via rock and roll, the Beatles took a journey to the East, but as many have noted, the Beatles, in fact, brought the West with them on their journey, and helped to inaugurate the New Age movement, which has become the religion of choice for so many former Christians.

Perhaps the most emblematic song of this deliberate replacement of Christianity by Hinduism and the New Age was recorded by “the Quiet Beatle,” George Harrison. Harrison’s 1970 hit “My Sweet Lord” begins as seeming prayer to Christ and a longing to “see” him but quickly turns into prayers to Hindu gods. Fully aware of his attempts at initiating the youth of the West into Eastern mysticism, Harrison specifically stated that it was his goal to get children to think they were praising Christ at first and then transition them to praying to Hare Krishna:

“My ideas in ‘My Sweet Lord,’ because it sounded like a ‘pop song,’ was to sneak up on them a bit. The point was to have the people not offended by ‘Halleluja,’ and by the time it gets to ‘Hare Krishna,’ they’re already hooked, and their foot’s taping and they’re already singing along ‘Hallelujah,’ to kind of lull them into this sense of false security. And then suddenly it turns into ‘Hare Krishna,’ and they will all be singing that before they know what’s happened, and they think, ‘Hey, I thought I wasn’t supposed to like Hare Krishna!’”  

The struggle between rock and roll and Christianity even factored into the murder of John Lennon in front of the Dakota apartment building in New York on December 8, 1980. The killer, Mark David Chapman, was a born again Christian who supposedly was angry about Lennon’s 1966 comment about the Beatles being “more popular than Jesus.” The apparently deranged Chapman further claimed to have been triggered by something about John Lennon’s picture on the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s.

It is further tragically ironically that both Chapman and Lennon were both tormented by voices and spiritual presences as if they same demons that inspired rock and roll also infused the 1970s charismatic evangelical revival, a movement that often manifests itself in more intoxicating and Dionysian forms than even the most Bacchanalian rock concert.

After Lennon’s death, the remaining Beatles went on to produce even more bizarre and occult-laden music and collect royalties from their music while spending their Golden Years dealing with the effects of psychedelic drugs, debauchery, and devil-worship.

However, the new religion of rock and roll initiated by the Beatles grew to become the dominant religion of the West, largely pushing Christianity out of the way.

In the struggle between Christianity and rock and roll, rock and roll has won—for now. The Beatles are, in fact, “bigger than Jesus” in the hearts and minds of many people of the world in this year of Our Lord 2018, and it should be no surprise that the faux Christian band U2, one of the innumerable spiritual heirs of the Beatles, should lend their support to the most horrific modern manifestations of Satanic ritual: abortion.

As Christians, we will only be able to overcome the “culture of death” by rooting out all of its manifestations in our lives—including the presence of rock and roll music—and replacing the rock roll culture with a truly Christian “civilization of love.”
